CNC Personnel - BEL Valves and Rotary Power

British Engines currently have a number of opportunities for time served CNC machine shop personnel, to work on a range of modern CNC machine tools within BEL Valves and Rotary Power Divisions. Successful candidates must be competent in a variety of programming methods, and of working with a variety of metals and tolerances. Experience of working CNC machines with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls is advantageous. An ability to interpret engineering drawings is essential.

The successful candidates must be willing to work a variety of shifts.

Senior Design Engineers

BEL Valves is a division of British Engines and is recognised as one of the worlds leading engineering companies supplying a range of valve products, for challenging applications, to customers globally. Our customer profile includes most major companies in the Oil & Gas industries to whom we provide products to meet both standard specifications and bespoke requirements. The Division is actively growing the business through the introduction of new products and increasing share of the valve markets and as a result wishes to recruit experienced mechanical design engineers to strengthen our team.

The roles will provide the opportunity to apply experience and knowledge to the design and development of new and existing products. It will involve managing the engineering content of projects, working closely with internal departments, directly with customers and suppliers.

Applicants, should be educated to HNC and/or degree level, demonstrate good technical knowledge combined with project management skills, experience of new product design, working to deadlines and delivering design solutions. Knowledge of Pressure Vessel standards such as ASME VIII and Piping Standards such as ASME B31.3 would be a benefit but not essential and experience in the use of a 3D CAD system would be an advantage.

Engineering Maintenance Manager - BEL Valves Division 

A vacancy had arisen for an Engineering Maintenance Manager for our BEL Valves Division

The post, which will report to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, will have the primary function to ensure the provision of a responsive maintenance service through effective planning and utilisation of internal and external resources to support the achievement of production targets.

Responsibilities will involve the effective utilisation of maintenance resources to respond to operational requirements together with the development of TPM and PPM. Additionally the development of a strategic spares facility, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring and a maintenance software package.

Crucial elements to the success of this role will be the ability to minimise machine tool and equipment downtime, provide leadership to the maintenance team and develop constructive relationships at all levels throughout the Division whilst supporting the achievement of production and operational targets and objectives.

Applicants should be technically trained and qualified and possess experience in a maintenance function within an engineering/manufacturing environment ideally working within a continuous improvement culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate good leadership qualities together with a positive, innovative and motivated approach to their work. Strong planning, organisational and communication skills are essential.

Maintenance Electrician - Cramlington

A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Electrician within CMP Division of British Engines, based at our site in Cramlington. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in maintenance of plant and machinery and be able to diagnose and remedy electrical faults. A knowledge of PLC’s would be advantageous. The role will involve working at height and on ladders and platforms.

The successful candidate should have an ONC/HNC in electrical engineering, or equivalent, good communication skills, be able to work to time constraints and have a flexible attitude to shifts and hours.

IMPORT / EXPORT ADMINISTRATOR - ROTARY POWER DIVISION

A permanent vacancy for an Import and Export Administrator has arisen within Rotary Power.

Working as part of the sales team you would be responsible for all aspects of invoicing, despatch and return goods to and from the Company. Experience in all export and import documentation is essential as is dealing with transport carriers. In addition there will be other related administration duties.

Applicants should be self motivated, have excellent organisational and communication skills, be numerate, and have the ability to work on their own initiative. Good IT skills including word and excel are also required.

Hours of work are 35 per week.

Lead Production Engineer – BEL Valves

A vacancy had arisen for a Lead Production Engineer to work in the Engineering Resource Department of Valves Division.

The post, which will report to the Engineering Resource Manager, will have the primary function to provide leadership to the production engineering facility that supports the efficient utilisation of machine tools and equipment to maintain a cost effective production process.

Responsibilities will involve ensuring that the production team focus on business priorities and achieve the production plan. Crucial elements to the success of this role will be the ability to provide leadership to the production engineering team whilst maintaining an awareness of the production activity and to ensure that requirements relating to manufacturing layouts, CNC programmes, tooling & fixtures are met. In addition the jobholder will liase with design and quality assurance to ensure cost effective design & product development and compliance with policies and procedures.

Applicants should possess experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment together with knowledge of machine operations and tooling. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive, innovative and motivated approach to their work combined with an organised and systematic method of working. Strong people management skills, PC and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with integrated business management systems and associated processes.
